Uncle Bubbas

We are, generally speaking, happy people. Give us a sunset and a good meal and we'll be smiling and consider ourselves quite blessed.

But, this night we were to be showered. Uncle Bubbas daughter, Corrie, was to be married the next day, and the rehersal dinner was at Uncle Bubbas, so just look who showed up!

That would be our own Cathy holding hands with Paula Deen-no joke!

And Jamie consented to photos as well.

The other highlight of the night was when Cathy asked about the vegetable of the day. When the wait person told her it was black eyed peas she got that stunned deer in headlights look (I'm so sorry I missed that shot-it was priceless.) Until this night, black eyed peas were not on Cathy's vegetable possibilities. However, she has shifted her paradigms so that black eyed peas are now in her list of vegetables/legumes she does not order.
As though all of this were not enough, when we had settled into our jammies in our Hyatt rooms we heard the booming and fireworks and were treated to a lovely show over the river. Quite a good start for our weekend.
