It was a slow simple day today befitting our need for an easy pace. We did, however, go out for lunch (at 2:30pdst) to one of our favorite Seattle restaurants, La Casa Del Mojito. We remember it as just Mojito's from our last visit. Apparently, Mojitos has been so successful that they opened a new cafe in downtown Seattle called Mojito Cafe, and our favorite is now known as La Casa Del Mojito. The tables have changed to bamboo and the menu is a bit different, but the food is still wonderful.
We both had the bistek that had been marinated in something quite Caribe and yummy. There is a glob of guac on the plate, and it was good (but not up to Marcia's standards). The rice and beans (I am partial to black beans) were the usual. There was only one "stick" of yucca frios. Marcia got tostones and I requested maduros as a substitute. Here's the thing: it's all about the sauce-a type of chimichuri-white with definite garlic and garlic and cilantro. Marcia requested a cup of it and got a small to go container much less than a cup. We would have happily bought a liter. It goes well with everything. They make a really mean mojito-for real. Marcia drove home. We are within 20 min of this restaruant, so we will return!
We got an email (from a fan) today that mentioned "eattle". We think this is trueer than a typo. Though we will explore, we love to eat in eattle!
